Numerous activities are offered at Gîte du Lac: a pirogue ride on the Pink Lake, a guided walk in the dunes and along the endless beach of the Grande Côte, a horseback ride or trek with Chevaux du Lac , a guided donkey ride for a picnic on the beach, or a visit to the village of Bonaba and its many vegetable gardens. Evenings are spent with the village griot and his famous Fulani violin. Visit our cheese dairy, "Les Chèvres du Sahel," with an explanation of the feta cheese-making process...

Visit to the cheese factory
We've created a small goat cheese dairy thanks to our herd and Moussa's expertise; we make feta and tomme cheeses. Moussa would be delighted to give you a tour (milking the goats, cheesemaking, tasting).

Salt canoe
A canoe trip across Lac Rose to the salt harvesting center. A guide will be on hand to explain the processes of salt collection, storage, and resale.

Swimming in the pink lake
Experience something extraordinary by trying an unusual swim that will have you floating like a cork in the ultra-salty waters of the pink lake (300g per liter of water). We have provided fresh water for the mandatory rinsing after your swim.
