Horseback riding and trekking at Lac Rose
On the dune ridge and the endless beach of the Grande Côte, the filao forests and the small vegetable gardens, you will discover the joy of riding robust and good-natured Barb Arabian horses, native to the stable, very accustomed to the sandy terrain and used to the area.
Moussa, his team, and the horses welcome you year-round for rides ranging from one hour to several days. Riders of all levels are welcome. Adults and novice children will enjoy a one-hour walk, led by their guide if needed. Experienced riders can, if they wish, experience an unforgettable gallop at low tide on the hard, wet sand of the beach, skimming the waves, or embark on a multi-day trek.
Please bring long trousers, closed shoes, a brimed hat or riding helmet, and sunglasses. Upon returning from your ride, if you enjoy providing basic care for the horses, the team will be happy to explain the principles of the large communal shower and rolling of the horses in the fine sand of the dunes.
If you wish to spend several days in our company, the Gite du Lac or Bonaba café will be at your disposal for dream nights and the pleasure of your taste buds (Preferential rates on walks for customers of the Gite du Lac or Bonaba café).

Located on the north shore of Lake Retba between the ocean of the "Grande Côte" and the lake. Near the Fulani village of Bonaba.
From Dakar (47 minutes), take the A1 motorway, exit towards Rufisque, Niaga, and Lac Rose. After the village of Niaga, follow this road to the craft village on the lake shore. Continue straight ahead (2 km on a laterite track) to Chevaux du Lac.
